Introduction and commitment Active Hotel Paradiso & Golf is committed to making its website accessible and usable by the widest possible audience, including users with disabilities, in compliance with European legislation (European Accessibility Act – EAA) and international web accessibility standards Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) Level AA and EN 301 549. We believe that digital accessibility is a fundamental right and a value that enriches the experience of all our guests, present and future. 2. Scope of application This statement applies to the website: It includes all public pages of the website: homepage, room and suite pages, wellness services, golf course, tourist information, contact page and other informational sections. 3. Compliance status The website activehotelparadisopeschiera.it is currently partially compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and European standard EN 301 549 for websites. Most of the main functionalities are usable by users with disabilities, but some non-compliances are still present that we are progressively resolving according to a continuous improvement plan. 4. Non-accessible content and functionalities Based on technical assessments carried out in February 2026, the following accessibility issues have been identified as still present on some pages of the website: 4.1 Alternative texts for images (WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1 – Level A) Issue: Some images do not have adequate or appropriate alternative text. Where it occurs:
  • Homepage slider (images without alternative text in the main section)
  • Photo galleries (image links without alternative description)
  • Decorative images (logo, icons, graphic elements)
  • CSS background images used in some galleries
Impact: Screen readers cannot properly describe these images to blind or visually impaired users. Planned actions: Complete review of all images with addition of meaningful alternative texts or explicit marking as decorative (alt=””) where appropriate. Priority: homepage and room pages. 4.2 Insufficiently descriptive links and buttons (WCAG Criteria 2.4.4 and 4.1.2 – Level A/AA) Issue: Some links and buttons do not have clear accessible names or are completely empty. Where it occurs:
  • Empty social media links (footer and menu)
  • CTA buttons without accessible name
  • Redundant links in galleries and sliders
  • Interactive elements without appropriate labels
Impact: Screen reader users do not understand the destination or function of the link/button. Planned actions: Addition of aria-label or visually hidden text for all links and buttons, removal of redundant links, improvement of CTA labels. 4.3 Insufficient color contrast (WCAG Criterion 1.4.3 – Level AA) Issue: Some texts do not reach the minimum required contrast ratio (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Where it occurs:
  • Section titles in light gray on white background
  • Links in purple color on white background (footer and content)
  • Cookie acceptance links
  • Contact information in the footer
Impact: Visually impaired users or users with color blindness may have difficulty reading these contents. Planned actions: Review of the color palette with application of darker tones to ensure a minimum contrast of 4.5:1. Testing with color blindness simulation tools. 4.4 Non-sequential heading structure (WCAG Criteria 1.3.1 and 2.4.6 – Level A/AA) Issue: The heading hierarchy (h1, h2, h3…) has level skips and does not follow a logical and sequential order. Where it occurs:
  • Homepage: heading level jumps
  • Inner pages: missing sequential progression
  • Some texts visually highlighted as titles are not marked with heading tags
Impact: Screen reader users navigating by headings lose the logical context of the page and may skip important content. Planned actions: Complete restructuring of the heading hierarchy on all pages, ensuring sequential progression (H1 > H2 > H3…). 4.5 Forms without appropriate labels (WCAG Criteria 1.3.1, 3.3.2 – Level A) Issue: Contact form fields do not have visible labels and use only placeholders, which disappear when the user starts typing. Where it occurs:
  • Contact page: Name field, Email field, Message field
  • Missing visual indication of required fields (asterisk or “required field” text)
  • Personal data processing checkbox: has a label but missing “required” indication
Impact: Screen reader users do not properly perceive field labels. Users with cognitive disabilities may not understand which fields are required. The disappearing placeholder creates short-term memory issues. Planned actions: Addition of visible and persistent labels for all form fields, clear and explicit indication of required fields with an asterisk and legend, implementation of aria-required=”true”. 4.6 Limited keyboard navigation (WCAG Criteria 2.1.1, 2.4.7 – Level A/AA) Issue: Some limitations in keyboard navigation (without mouse). Where it occurs:
  • Tab key does not reach all interactive elements
  • When closing a pop-up, focus restarts from the beginning of the page instead of the element that activated the pop-up
  • Esc/Delete key does not work to close modal windows
  • Visual focus not very evident on some interactive elements
Impact: Users navigating only with keyboard (motor disabilities) have difficulty reaching some content and lose orientation after interaction with modal elements. Planned actions: Complete implementation of keyboard focus management, addition of Esc key support to close modals, improvement of :focus styles with clear borders, focus position management after closing modals. 4.7 Other technical issues identified Multimedia elements without alternatives:
  • Videos without transcripts or subtitles
ARIA elements:
  • Presence of ARIA attributes that require verification of correct use
Non-accessible PDF:
  • Links to PDF documents without an accessible alternative version
5. Assessment methodology This statement was prepared in February 2026 using a combined accessibility assessment methodology. 5.1 Automated testing tools Automated analysis tools were used on a representative sample of pages (homepage, room pages, services page, contact page): WAVE (WebAIM) and Lighthouse (Google Chrome DevTools) Automated tools detected critical errors, warnings and items to verify relating to:
  • Missing alternative texts
  • Color contrast issues
  • Incorrect heading structure
  • Non-accessible links and forms
  • Keyboard navigation issues
5.2 Manual testing Manual keyboard navigation tests were carried out on representative pages, verifying:
  • Navigation with arrow keys
  • Navigation with Tab key
  • Focus visibility
  • Activation with Enter/Space
  • Closing with Esc/Delete
  • Tab order
5.3 Specific reviews Alternative texts: Manual analysis of images with verification of presence, quality and appropriateness of alternative text. Forms: Manual testing of contact forms with simulated screen reader, verification of the presence of labels, placeholders, required field indicators and compatibility with assistive technologies. 5.4 Sample of evaluated pages The assessment focused on the following representative pages: These pages represent the main navigation paths and key functionalities of the website. 6. Improvement plan Active Hotel Paradiso & Golf is committed to progressively resolving the detected non-compliances according to the following priorities: Priority 1 (within 3 months):
  • Addition of alternative texts to all informative images
  • Correction of color contrast errors
  • Implementation of correct labels in forms
  • Resolution of empty links and buttons
Priority 2 (within 6 months):
  • Complete restructuring of heading hierarchy
  • Improvement of keyboard navigation and focus management
  • Elimination of redundant links
Priority 3 (within 12 months):
  • Addition of transcripts/subtitles for video content
  • Review and optimization of ARIA attributes
  • Creation of accessible versions of PDF documents
